Christiane Amanpour Responds To Trump Attack On Free Press

I have had the honor of working with and around the best journalists of several eras. This isn't political....a free press maintains our democracy. To sit silent would be a dishonor to those who gave their lives to bring us truth. (like WW2 correspondent Ernie Pyle who died on Okinawa). No "what abouts" here.

Throwback Thursday

#TBT #ThrowbackThursday I did press for then candidate Joe Kennedy (father of @RepJoeKennedy ). That’s young Joe’s parents and grandma Ethel. I tried to get out of the shot but was boxed in. Photo: Pulitzer winner Eddie Adams. He took the pic of Vietnam prisoner being shot in head

The McCartney Family Meat Free Monday

Paul McCartney and photographer daughter Mary and designer daughter Stella have produced this film called “one day a week”. It’s about going meat free just one day a week. On Monday. It follows in the footsteps of wife and mom Linda McCartney who was a devout vegetarian along with the rest of her family.  I tried being a vegetarian for about a year when I was in high school. I caved in finally. Living in Texas around barbecue was tough. One small aspect of the McCartney‘s experience has stayed with me for 40 years. They became vegetarians when they were about to tuck into a lamb chop. Just as they did, a lamb poked its head through the open window at their farm in Scotland.   It dawned on  them that their food had a name.  I haven’t touched lamb since I heard that story 40 years ago.

HANSON podCASTNER- The Lost Interview

From the lost archives dept: My interview with #Hanson at their world headquarters in Tulsa, OK. It was meant to be a piece for print on their business but despite my best efforts that never come to fruition. Finally I have gotten this together in a podCASTNER to celebrate their 25th anniversary Middle Of Everywhere Tour. it is the raw interview and although taped in May of 2013 the core of Hanson and their company is the same today. Taped backstage at Tulsa's Cain's Ballroom. Enjoy!

It was 50 Years Ago Today

I was blessed to attend the 20th anniversary of Sergeant Pepper at Abbey Road Studios in London in 1987. Paul and Linda McCartney were there as was legendary rocker Roy Orbison. I was a producer with entertainment tonight at that time. We did a lengthy sitdown interview with Paul and I had a wonderful opportunity to speak with Linda at length. I brought my camera with me that day and just snapped I think two or three pictures. I was busy producing. She gave me some photography pointers one of which being always have your camera with you. You never know when a picture will present itself. A blessing to have been present for such a legendary celebration at such a legendary studio.

Que bola asere! I finally realized a lifelong dream and traveled to Cuba. These are some of the people I met and some of the experiences I had. I am not naïve when it comes to Cuban history but then again I'm not naïve about our own politics -especially now. I was delighted to run into actress Jamie Lee Curtis while I was there. We were both on our maiden Cuban voyages. And finally we now know what some of our southern neighbors think of Trump.

Trump can drive the Fiat but not Barry

The problem I have with both the right and left is when they are so full of sh-t as if we can't compile clips like this. Guess what? If you are a spokeshole on TV or a talk radio host you can do and say ANYTHING and you aren't held accountable. Just have your justifications ready to go. That's how you become a lazy millionaire as Sean Hannity self described.
